In Lohagad Fort, Loha is a Marathi word (also sanskrit) which means Iron. Lohagad is seen in the hills near Pawna Dam near Lonavla in Pune district. This fort has many features of a fort in a very small area. Hence many people, especially trekkers, history enthusiasts visit it often. Since this fort is surrounded by many same height forts like Visapur, Tikona & Tung, many people visit the quartet in 2 days.
This is an easy grade trek which is ideal for beginners and it gives the best exploration experience for history enthusiasts too. The fort offers various spectacular sighting with a lot to explore on the fort. One can visit this fort in any season.
